Abstract Guidelines
  • The abstract submission deadline is February 28th, 2008

  • Abstracts for the 33rd FEBS Congress & 11th IUBMB Conference can only be submitted on-line

  • Abstracts have to follow the Symposia & Topics' categories as outlined in the Preliminary Program

  • Some accepted posters will be selected for oral presentation

  • Presenting authors will be informed on the status of their abstract (accepted -rejected) on March 24th, 2008

  • All accepted abstracts will be included in the book of abstracts, provided that the presenting author has been registered to the Congress. (For each abstract accepted, at least the present­ing author needs to register. The same author can be the presenting one for a maximum of two abstracts. The deadline for authors’ registration will be announced at the Congress website in July 2007).

  • Presenting authors will be notified about the final poster number and date of presentation in May, 2008

ABSTRACT SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
Given that the abstracts will be reproduced in the CD-ROM of Abstracts exactly in the form they are submitted, authors are kindly requested to adhere to the following guidelines:

 

  • The abstract should not exceed 250 words. The font must be "Tahoma", size 10 cpi and fully justified.

  • The title of the abstract should be typed in UPPER CASE.

  • Authors' names should be typed in title case and they should be typed in the appropriate fields. The presenting author should have the Presenting check box checked.

  • Authors' affiliation(s), city and country should be typed in title case. Authors' names should feature in ascending order corresponding to their affiliation(s).
    e.g. Smith John1, Bower Jack2
    1.
    King's College Hospital, London
    2. Kaiser Medical Center, San Francisco, California, USA

  • Single line spacing should be applied between title, authors and authors' workplace.

  • It is recommended that the abstract is structured as follows:

    • Introduction

    • Methods

    • Results

    • Conclusions

      The above titles should be written in Title Case and in bold.

  • Standard abbreviations as well as tables and diagrams can be used, as long as they do not exceed the prescribed text margins and overall should not be more than 250 words.

  • Tables should be supplied as Tab-spaced text (not key-spaced), or as Word tables, i.e. not pasted in from other applications

  • Changes, additions or corrections will not be accepted after the abstract submission.

  • Abstracts having insufficient data or including phrases such as "the conclusions are to be discussed" or "the evidence will be presented" etc. will not be accepted.

  • The topic as well as the desired presentation type, oral or poster presentation, should be selected in the abstract submission form.

  • If references are essential, they should be within the text, in the form: (Murphy et al. BJU Int 2005; 95 27-30).
