The Peace and Friendship Stadium, which will be the Meeting Venue, is a building of modern architectural style located on the coast of Faliro, in the south of Athens and very close to the port of Piraeus.
The venue enjoys international prestige and an enviable reputation thanks to its use as a venue for important European and international events, such as congresses, exhibitions, commercial fairs and sports championships. Its recent renovation resulted in a 13,200-seated capacity stadium covering a total area of 40.000 m2, comprising the main sports arena (oval shape), halls and additional areas around it.
The Peace and Friendship Stadium is easily accessible from most parts of the city, including the Athens International Airport, as four different means of transport have a stop at walking distance from the site (metro, bus, electric tram, trolley). The fastest way to get to the Peace and Friendship Stadium from the city centre (6 km) is via Line 1 of the Athens Metro. The Athens International Airport is also linked to the Peace and Friendship Stadium via the Athens Metro Lines 2 and 1. Total travel time is approximately 1 hour (including Line change).
